I have been delighted to read Eileen Button’s “The Waiting Place”. She’s a wonderful story teller, recreating many memories and experiences and the feelings and emotions of them. These are not portrayed through rose colored glasses, but very human, realistically showing the good, the bad, the happy and the sad. Through it you come to realize that life is a wonderful mixture of it all, without any of which something would be missing. It helped to remind me once again that it would be difficult to truly value and appreciate this wonderful thing we call life without this incredible combination.
"The Waiting Place" reminds us of the wonderful things that can happen and come from what may seem at first glance to be delays, stops, bends or changes in the way we think or want them to be. And from these twists and turns that come into the paths of our lives can come some wonderful experiences, gifts, treasures and beautiful if we will let ourselves see them.
Through reading Eileen’s own personal accounts, I was left with the desire to take a walk down my own memory lane and revisit my own past and life and see beauties have been there waiting for me.
